Hastings Golf Club, commonly associated with Bridge Pa, is an 18-hole course in Hawke's Bay whose present home dates to 1912. The club itself began in 1898 and played at several earlier sites, including Frimley, Mangateretere and Raureka, before purchasing land at Bridge Pa in 1911. The official history describes that property at the time as a 'howling wilderness of sand and pumice', with early golfers contending with sheep, rodents, dry conditions and poor topsoil.
The modern championship card is par 72 and extends to 6,314 yards from the black tees, with a published rating of 73.9 and slope of 127. Other tees provide shorter rated options. The club welcomes visitors and operates a pro shop, driving range, clubhouse dining and bar facilities.
