Island Park Golf Club is a nine-hole parkland course at 336 Brighton Road in Waldronville, Dunedin. The club dates from 1969, when approval was given for a new golf course; an intended expansion to 18 physical holes never occurred. Instead, the nine-hole property is played from alternate positions to create an 18-hole competition round.
Golf New Zealand's White card totals 5,310 metres and par 71 over that 18-hole sequence, with a course rating of 68.3 and slope of 118. The club is semi-private and accepts visiting golfers. Current 2026 visitor green fees are NZ$30 for an adult, NZ$20 when playing with an Island Park member, NZ$20 for students and NZ$10 for school-age players.
The course is a 9-hole parkland golf course. The course originally opened in 1969. It is semi-private, welcoming both members and visitors. On-site facilities include Clubhouse, Bar, Putting Green, Chipping Green, Practice Bunker.
Island Park's origins date to 1969, when approval was granted for a new golf course in Dunedin. The project produced a nine-hole course at Waldronville. Contemporary retrospective reporting by the Otago Daily Times records that an 18-hole expansion was originally intended but never occurred.
The club retained its nine-hole format and developed an 18-hole playing sequence through alternate tee positions. It won its first Otago provincial junior pennant in 1976 and, decades later, its first senior pennant title in 2020.
Island Park remains a nine-hole semi-private parkland club beside the Kaikorai Estuary. Golf New Zealand lists the club at 336 Brighton Road and publishes its current competition course data, while the club publishes 2026 membership and visitor green-fee information.
