Taieri Lakes Golf Club is an 18-hole par-72 course at North Taieri near Dunedin. The club was formed in 1920, but its present course dates from 1969 after the organisation bought land on Milners Road and commissioned British architect Commander John Dering Harris to design a new 18-hole layout. The present site officially opened on October 11, 1969, initially with four temporary holes because part of the property was still being used as a gravel pit.
The final original holes were completed in 1979. In December 2020 two new holes were introduced around newly created lakes, replacing two steeper holes at the back of the property. The club's current course map lists the Black championship tees at 5,897 metres, White at 5,620 metres, Yellow at 5,098 metres and Purple beginner/junior tees at about 2,000 metres.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 72, 5,897m. Designed by Commander John Harris, the course originally opened in 1969. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Clubhouse, Golf Cart Rental, Club Hire, Trundler Hire, Practice Fairway.
The club was formed in 1920 and spent its early decades leasing several different properties. Its longest pre-North Taieri stay was at Gladfield Road, where membership eventually outgrew the nine-hole course.
The club purchased the Milners Road property in 1965 and commissioned John Dering Harris to design an 18-hole course. The site officially opened in October 1969, although four holes were temporarily placed on neighbouring land while a council gravel pit remained active. After the pit was filled, the final four permanent holes opened in May 1979.
The most significant later change came in 2020 when two new holes were constructed around lakes and two steeper holes were retired.
Taieri Lakes remains an 18-hole visitor-accessible club with four principal tee options and a separate flat nine-hole routing available on Mondays.
