Kwinana Golf Club is an 18-hole par-72 course at Calista in Western Australia. Its origins lie in plans for a sporting complex on Tasker's Reserve in the late 1950s. The club's official history records the first golf-annex meeting in April 1959 and says volunteers transformed former farmland into six playable holes within four months.
The inaugural golf event took place on 11 July 1959, using those six holes for a nine-hole stroke competition. Expansion continued over the following decade, and the second nine was completed in 1970. The club later adopted a semi-public model and today explicitly welcomes green-fee golfers.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. The course originally opened in 1959. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Putting Green, Chipping Green, Practice Bunker, Pro Shop, Golf Lessons, Bistro, Bar, and 1 more.
The concept grew from plans for a sporting complex on Tasker's Reserve. Local residents endorsed the proposal in January 1959, and the first golf-annex meeting followed in April. Volunteers then converted farmland into six playable holes in time for an inaugural competition on 11 July 1959.
A permanent clubhouse was completed in 1960. Continued demand eventually prompted construction of another nine holes, completed in 1970. Later alterations created two par-5 finishing holes, with Murray Dawson advising on their construction.
In the late 1970s the club introduced a semi-public model.
Kwinana now operates a full 18-hole par-72 course and welcomes public green-fee players as well as members and competition golfers.
