Liphook Golf Club is an 18-hole inland heathland course in Hampshire. The club was founded in 1921 and the course opened for play in 1922. Arthur Croome produced the original layout as an early example of strategic rather than penal golf-course design, and his design partner Tom Simpson completed the course and later made further changes.
The championship course measures 6,523 yards, with the medal course at 6,317 yards, and plays to par 70. Its sandy-loam ground supports firm running conditions, while heather, gorse and mature trees place a premium on positioning rather than length alone. Mackenzie & Ebert completed a further programme of changes in 2021 focused on routing, safety and strategic interest.

It is open to members and their guests. On-site facilities include Pro Shop, Driving Range, Short Game Area, Practice Bunkers, Putting Greens, Indoor Practice Facility, Trackman, Clubhouse, and 2 more.
The club was founded in 1921 as golf-course architecture was moving away from overtly penal design. Arthur Croome was invited in 1922 to lay out the course and applied ideas associated with the emerging strategic school.
Croome's design asked stronger golfers to choose lines that brought hazards into play in return for better angles, while allowing less accomplished golfers safer alternatives. Tom Simpson completed the layout and later made additions in the same strategic spirit.
In 1949 the order of the two nines was reversed to accommodate a new clubhouse position. The fundamental routing otherwise changed relatively little for decades. Mackenzie & Ebert designed a modern programme of work completed in 2021 to improve safety, routing and strategic interest.
The club says the R&A recognised Liphook early in its life as an exemplary inland heathland course. Its architecture and presentation continue to receive national recognition.
Liphook remains a members' club with restricted visitor access between March and October. The course measures 6,523 yards from the championship tees and retains its heathland character.
