The Arderne Course is the nine-hole short course at Macdonald Portal Golf & Spa Resort near Tarporley. It measures 1,724 yards and plays to par 30, with three par fours and six par threes. The individual holes range from roughly 100 to 310 yards.
The course is intended to provide a shorter alternative to Portal's two full-length 18-hole courses while still incorporating contoured greens and water features. Published scorecard data lists the men's course at 1,724 yards and a shorter women's set at 1,551 yards. Portal's broader golf operation includes the Donald Steel-designed Championship Course, Premier Course, pro shop, clubhouse, hotel and practice facilities.

Arderne provides a compact mix of six par threes and three par fours, with water and contoured greens used to create variety within its short overall yardage.
Arderne remains Portal's nine-hole option alongside the Championship and Premier courses.
