Macdonald Spey Valley Championship Golf Course is an 18-hole, par-72 resort course at Aviemore in the Scottish Highlands. Designed by former Ryder Cup player and architect Dave Thomas, it opened in July 2006. Macdonald currently displays a championship specification of 7,153 yards, although body text on the same official course page also gives 7,118 yards from the back tees; that discrepancy is retained in the notes rather than concealed.
The routing runs through Caledonian pine forest and alongside sections of the River Spey, with multiple teeing grounds that shorten the course substantially for non-championship play. Spey Valley became a professional tournament venue through the European Challenge Tour's Scottish Hydro Challenge, staged there from 2009 through 2018. The resort has also publicised recognition including Scottish Highlands Golf Course of the Year 2018 from Your Golfer Magazine and a Most Picturesque Golf Course in the UK accolade.

Spey Valley was developed as a championship course for the Aviemore resort and opened in July 2006. Dave Thomas, a former Ryder Cup player with an extensive course-design portfolio, was responsible for the architecture.
Thomas routed the course through the existing Highland environment, using sections of Caledonian pine forest and the River Spey. Numerous teeing grounds were incorporated to allow the championship-scale course to be shortened significantly for everyday play.
Within three years of opening, Spey Valley became a European Challenge Tour venue. The Scottish Hydro Challenge remained at the course from 2009 through 2018.
Macdonald cites Scottish Highlands Golf Course of the Year 2018 from Your Golfer Magazine as well as recognition as Most Picturesque Golf Course in the UK.
Spey Valley remains the championship golf course attached to Macdonald's Aviemore resort and is available for visitor and resort golf.
