About Mar Menor Golf Resort

Mar Menor Golf is an 18-hole, par-72 resort course at Torre-Pacheco in Murcia. The original nine was designed by Dave Thomas and the additional nine by Nicklaus Design, producing two distinct architectural sections within one routing. The yellow tees measure 5,801 metres at 70.7/136, while the red tees measure 5,101 metres at 72.4/132. The first nine plays to par 37 and the second to par 35. Water is particularly prominent around holes 13, 14 and 15, a sequence locally referred to as the course's 'Amen Corner'.

The course is an 18-hole resort golf course. It plays to par 72, 6,153m (6,729 yards), course rating 72.6 and slope rating 139. Origins

Mar Menor was the first Polaris World golf development in the Mar Menor area. Its first nine holes were designed by Dave Thomas before the course was expanded with a second nine by Nicklaus Design.

Did You Know?
The lake around holes 13-15 is locally referred to as Mar Menor's 'Amen Corner'.

Design Philosophy

The two architects produced visibly different sections. Thomas's original nine is tighter, with relatively narrow fairways and greens defended by bunkers and lakes. The Nicklaus Design section has broader fairways and roughs, with strategically placed bunkering and a large lake dominating holes 13 through 15.

Today

The course is operated by UGOLF Iberia and remains part of the Mar Menor resort complex.
