Nairn Golf Club's Championship Course is a historic 18-hole links on the Moray Firth. The club was founded in 1887 by Robert B. Finlay, with Andrew Simpson laying out the original course.
Old Tom Morris revised and extended it in 1890, James Braid later altered tees, bunkers and greens, and Ben Sayers designed new holes at Delnies in 1920. Mackenzie & Ebert began a major modernisation programme in 2018, altering most holes and reworking bunkers, greens, approaches and topography. The present Championship Course is par 71 and measures 6,832 yards.
The course is an 18-hole links golf course. It plays to par 71, 6,247m (6,832 yards). Designed by Andrew Simpson, the course originally opened in 1887. It is semi-private, welcoming both members and visitors. On-site facilities include Pro Shop, Restaurant, Clubhouse, Practice Facilities.
Robert B. Finlay founded Nairn Golf Club in 1887. Andrew Simpson, Keeper of the Green at Aberdeen, created the original layout.
The course evolved through contributions from several major Scottish architects. Old Tom Morris extended it westward in 1890; James Braid subsequently altered tees and bunkers and created new greens; Ben Sayers designed new holes at Delnies in 1920.
Mackenzie & Ebert were engaged in 2018 for a broad modernisation programme. Most holes were altered in some form, with new bunker styling, recontoured greens and approaches and changes to topography.
Nairn's championship history includes four of amateur golf's major team and individual events: the Walker Cup, Curtis Cup, The Amateur Championship and Women's Amateur Championship.
The Championship Course is a par-71 links measuring 6,832 yards, complemented by the shorter Cameron Course.
