Padang Golf Modern, officially branded Modern Golf & Country Club, is an 18-hole championship course in Tangerang, Banten. The club's official site credits five-time Open Championship winner Peter Thomson with the design and publishes a course length of 6,350 metres. Lakes, long fairways and bunkering are recurring elements of the routing.
Modern Golf operates as more than a golf facility: its sports complex includes indoor and outdoor driving-range facilities, a pro shop, chipping green, practice bunker and putting green as well as tennis, squash, badminton, swimming, fitness, spa and accommodation facilities. Modernland historical material also identifies Padang Golf Modern as Indonesia's first night-golf course. The club accepts member and guest tee-time bookings through its website.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 72, 6,350m. Designed by Peter Thomson, the course originally opened in 1995. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Bar, Spike Bar, Terrace, Driving range, Pro shop, Chipping green, Practice bunker, Putting green, and 10 more.
Padang Golf Modern was developed as a major sporting facility within Kota Modern in Tangerang, with Peter Thomson commissioned to design the golf course.
Thomson used lakes, long fairways and bunkering to give individual holes distinct strategic identities within an international-standard 18-hole layout.
The golf operation grew alongside a substantial country-club complex incorporating racquet sports, swimming, fitness, spa, accommodation and event facilities.
Modern Golf & Country Club continues to operate the 18-hole course with online guest tee-time reservations and extensive practice and leisure facilities.
