The Arthur Hills Course is the older of Palmetto Hall's two 18-hole courses on Hilton Head Island. Designed by Arthur Hills and opened in 1991, it uses the Lowcountry setting through rolling fairways, mature oaks and pines, lakes, substantial greens and bunkering positioned close to green edges. The back tees measure 6,918 yards with a course rating of 73.8 and slope of 139.
The club also publishes a White-tee distance of 6,257 yards at 70.6/128 and Red tees of 5,006 yards at 70.3/119. Golf Digest named the course among America's Top 10 New Courses after its opening and later awarded it four stars in its 2008-09 Best Places to Play coverage. It shares Palmetto Hall's clubhouse, golf shop and practice facilities with the separate Robert Cupp Course, which opened two years later.
The course is an 18-hole resort golf course. It plays to par 72, 6,918 yards, course rating 73.8 and slope rating 139. Designed by Arthur Hills, the course originally opened in 1991. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Full Membership, Social Membership, Driving Range, Pro Shop, Restaurant, Clubhouse, Club Hire.

The layout reflects Hills's characteristic use of mounding and undulating fairways. Wooded corridors, lakes and greens edged by bunkers create a more traditional Lowcountry appearance than the geometric Robert Cupp course that followed.
Palmetto Hall expanded to 36 holes when the Robert Cupp Course opened in 1993.
Golf Digest included the Hills Course among America's Top 10 New Courses following its opening and later included it in Best Places to Play with a four-star designation for 2008-09.
The Hills and Cupp courses operate together under the Palmetto Hall golf operation while retaining distinct designs and scorecards.
