Arthur Hills (1930–2021) was a Toledo, Ohio–born golf course architect whose career spanned more than five decades. He held a degree in landscape architecture from the University of Michigan and a degree in agriculture from Michigan State University, and began designing courses after placing an ad in the Yellow Pages in the mid‑1960s.
He ultimately designed over 200 new golf courses and completed more than 120 renovations worldwide. His work ranged from public and resort layouts to high‑end private clubs, and he served as president of the American Society of Golf Course Architects.
He was particularly active in Florida during the 1980s and 1990s and continued consulting through the firm Arthur Hills/Steve Forrest and Associates until his death in 2021.
