Pecanwood Golf & Country Club is an 18-hole, par-72 Jack Nicklaus Signature course on the southern side of Hartbeespoort Dam in South Africa's North West province. Nicklaus Design records Pecanwood as a semi-private course that opened in 1998, and the estate describes it as one of the Jack Nicklaus Signature layouts in South Africa. Contemporary South African sources describe it as the first Nicklaus Signature course in the country.
The layout is parkland in character, with kikuyu fairways, Crenshaw bent-grass greens, extensive bunkering, five incorporated inland lakes and a double-sided practice range. Published measurements vary according to tee configuration: a championship measurement of 6,997 metres appears in South African course references, while approximately 6,280 metres is commonly quoted for the regular club setup. The course has also developed a tournament record, including the DP World Tour/Sunshine Tour event held at Pecanwood in 2022 and the MyGolfLife Open in 2025.

Pecanwood was developed as the golf centrepiece of a residential estate on the southern banks of Hartbeespoort Dam. Golf Data constructed the course from Jack Nicklaus's design, with substantial earthmoving used to shape the site and create parts of the estate's peninsulas. The first official golf on the developing layout was played over the back nine in July 1997, before Jack Nicklaus formally opened the completed course in August 1998.
Nicklaus Design describes a course with a double-sided practice range, extensive sand bunkering, five inland lakes, kikuyu fairways and Crenshaw bent-grass greens. The broad fairways are balanced by substantial bunkering and shaped green complexes, creating strategic choices rather than relying solely on narrow corridors.
Management of the golf and boat club was taken over by Mark Wiltshire Golf in 2013 on behalf of Country Heights Malaysia. A later facilitation process resulted in the golf course, marina and associated facilities being leased to the Pecanwood Home Owners Association in 2017. Mark Wiltshire Golf continued course maintenance through April 2021.
Nicklaus Design records Pecanwood as Golf Digest's Best New Course for 1998. It subsequently appeared prominently in South African course rankings and received five-star golf-experience recognition in the 2000s.
The course remains operational as the golf component of Pecanwood Estate, with visitor play available alongside the residential membership structure. It continues to host significant competitive golf, including national amateur events and professional tournaments.
