Phokeethra Country Club is an 18-hole, par-72 course near Siem Reap designed by Major General Weerayudth Phetbuasak of Weeyos Golf Design. The current Sofitel description gives a total length of 7,145 yards and identifies Bermuda grass varieties as the principal playing surface. Practice amenities include a driving range, putting green and chipping area.
The course officially opened in 2007 and quickly became important to professional golf in Cambodia. It hosted the Johnnie Walker Cambodian Open from 2007 through 2010, including the country's first international professional golf tournament in 2007. Winners during the event's run included Bryan Saltus, Thongchai Jaidee and Marcus Both.
The course is an 18-hole resort golf course. It plays to par 72, 6,533m (7,145 yards). Designed by Weerayudth Phetbuasak, the course originally opened in 2007. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving range, Putting green, Chipping area, Pro shop, Locker rooms.
Phokeethra Country Club emerged as one of the projects that established Siem Reap as a golf destination during the 2000s. Contemporary reporting records an official opening in April 2007. The course was designed by Major General Weerayudth Phetbuasak of Weeyos Golf Design and was already staging international tournament golf before the end of its first year.
The course occupies relatively flat terrain, with the design using water, established vegetation, bunkering and raised green complexes to create strategic interest. Sofitel identifies several Bermuda-grass varieties across the course.
From 2007 through 2010 Phokeethra hosted the Johnnie Walker Cambodian Open. In 2026 the club announced a major clubhouse renovation running from April through August, including a redesigned pro shop, upgraded locker rooms, new food-and-beverage facilities and a terrace overlooking the 18th green. The course itself remained open during the work.
Phokeethra received two Cambodia-specific honours for 2025: Cambodia Golf Course of the Year from IAGTO and Cambodia's Best Golf Course from the World Golf Awards.
Phokeethra remains an operating 18-hole course associated with Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort and continues to serve visiting golfers in Siem Reap.
