Racine Country Club is a private 18-hole club on Northwestern Avenue in Racine, Wisconsin. The club traces its roots to a nine-hole golf operation around 1900, then relocated to part of the Charles Wustum Farm in 1909. Its current history describes the course as a Thomas Bendelow and Todd Sloan design.
The club purchased adjoining land in 1926 and expanded to 18 holes under Sloan's supervision. The current layout plays to par 72 across more than 200 acres, with mature trees, rolling ground and the Root River running through the property. Current 18Birdies data lists the longest set at 6,656 yards, rating 73.2 and slope 133.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 72, 6,086m (6,656 yards), course rating 73.2 and slope rating 133. Designed by Todd Sloan and Tom Bendelow, the course originally opened in 1909. It is open to members and their guests. On-site facilities include Driving range, Putting green, Chipping green, Golf lessons, Club fitting, Golf simulators, Golf shop, Restaurant, and 4 more.
Racine's early golf club emerged around 1900 when local industrialists and businessmen acquired land west of the city for a nine-hole course. The club believes Thomas Bendelow designed that first layout. In 1909 the membership moved to part of the Charles Wustum Farm, seeking room for a more substantial golf course and clubhouse.
The course's design history is cumulative rather than the work of a single moment. Bendelow is associated with the club's early golf architecture, while Todd Sloan guided the expansion and construction of the 18-hole course. The mature present-day routing uses rolling ground, trees and the Root River.
Racine bought adjoining land in 1926 and expanded to 18 holes under Sloan's supervision. Larry and Roger Packard carried out extensive alterations in 1977, and all bunkers were renovated in 2005. In 2023 the organisation transitioned from member ownership to private ownership.
The club remains private and operates the golf course alongside dining, racquet sports, swimming, fitness and indoor simulator facilities. Golf guests are accepted when accompanied by a member.
