About Real Club de Golf el Prat

Real Club de Golf El Prat is a historic Barcelona-area club whose present property lies between Terrassa and Sabadell. The club dates to 1912, but its current golf complex is a later development: Greg Norman designed 45 holes at the present site, which are configured into several named playing combinations rather than one fixed 18-hole course. For that reason, the club-level database record should not carry one universal par, length or course rating.

The official site publishes detailed hole-by-hole information for individual combinations such as the Green Course. El Prat has a substantial championship history and states that it has hosted the Spanish Open ten times. The present complex also contains extensive practice and clubhouse facilities, including a golf academy, restaurant and bar, changing facilities and other sporting amenities.

The course is a 45-hole parkland golf course. Designed by Greg Norman, the course originally opened in 1912. It is a private members' club. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Putting Green, Short Game Area, Golf Academy, Pro Shop, Locker Room, Restaurant, Bar, and 3 more.

Origins

The club traces its history to 1912 and is one of Spain's long-established golf institutions. Its history predates the present Terrassa property, with the club relocating as Barcelona's urban development changed the circumstances of earlier sites.

Did You Know?
The present property contains 45 Greg Norman-designed holes that can be combined into multiple named courses.

Design Philosophy

At the present site Greg Norman created 45 holes rather than a single championship eighteen. The club describes his approach as balancing playability for different standards of golfer with integration of the courses into the site's natural landscape.

Development

The club's move to the current site produced the 45-hole complex between Terrassa and Sabadell. Those holes are organised into several playing combinations, giving the club more flexibility than a conventional one-course facility.

Recognition

The club's championship record includes ten editions of the Spanish Open and numerous national and international competitions.

Today

Real Club de Golf El Prat operates the 45-hole Norman complex together with extensive practice, dining, fitness and family facilities.
