Golf Course Architect
Greg Norman (born 1955 in Mount Isa, Queensland, Australia) rose to become one of the world’s top professional golfers and then parlayed his fame into founding Greg Norman Golf Course Design in 1987, shaping over 100 courses worldwide. His firm is known for audacious, aggressive layouts that integrate bold bunkering and environmental sensitivity, often transforming challenging or uninspiring sites—such as swamplands—into celebrated championship venues.
Notable Australian projects include Ellerston Golf Club, The Glades, Pelican Waters Golf Club, Sanctuary Lakes, and The Grand, many developed in collaboration with lead regional designer Bob Harrison.
