Rondebosch Golf Club occupies a central Cape Town site and plays as an 18-hole, par-72 parkland course. The club itself dates to 1911, but for its first quarter-century it played on Rondebosch Common before moving to the present site in 1937. The current layout is principally the work of golf architect Bob Grimsdell and extends to about 6,000 metres from the Yellow tees.
Those tees have an official course rating of 72.0 and slope of 127. The course is characterised by tree-lined fairways, relatively small greens and more than 40 bunkers. The Black River and Vygekraal River cross the lower portion of the property, an area that had previously been a dairy farm.

It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Putting Green, Pro Shop, Golf Lessons, Restaurant, Bar.
The club was formed in 1911 and initially made its home on Rondebosch Common. That arrangement lasted for roughly a quarter of a century before the club, clubhouse and course moved to the present property in 1937. Part of the current site had previously operated as a dairy farm.
Rondebosch credits Bob Grimsdell with the design of the present course. His routing uses the parkland setting, with the Black and Vygekraal rivers crossing the lower part of the property and a substantial bunker presence around the layout.
The course has changed in places as Cape Peninsula road systems developed and as the rivers were widened for flood-control purposes. The club nevertheless describes the present layout as remaining substantially faithful to Grimsdell's original conception.
Rondebosch has served as a venue for international, national and provincial tournaments at professional and amateur level.
The club operates an 18-hole parkland course with kikuyu fairways and tees, poa annua greens, practice facilities, coaching, a golf shop and clubhouse food and beverage facilities.
