About Shenandoah Valley Golf Club - The Old Course

C. Originally designed by Raymond Loving and later redesigned by renowned architect Rees Jones — known as "The Open Doctor" for his work preparing courses to host major championships — it's been ranked among the top 10 courses in Virginia by Golf Digest. The course plays to a par of 71 for men (72 for women, since the par-4/par-5 16th hole is split by gender) across five tees, from the Blue tees at 6,108 yards (69.5 rating, 123 slope) down to the Silver tees at 3,603 yards.

Rolling greens and a variety of shot-shaping challenges are set against sweeping mountain views, with a brisk pace of play built into the routing. The Old Course shares its clubhouse, pro shop, and The Foreman Grill restaurant and bar with its sister course, The Titus Course, on the same 134 Golf Club Circle property — together billed as "36 holes of premier Virginia golf." Golfers can also stay on-site at the historic Fairview House, book lessons through the top-ranked Virginia Golf School, and rent carts or use the driving range and practice facilities.

The course is an 18-hole golf course. It plays to par 71, 6,108 yards, course rating 69.5 and slope rating 123. Designed by Raymond Loving, the course originally opened in 1966. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Pro Shop, Restaurant, Bar / 19th Hole, Function Room, Golf Lessons, Golf Cart Rental, Driving Range, Accommodation.
