Spey Valley's 9-hole Academy Golf Course is a separate resort golf layout at Macdonald Spey Valley Resort in Aviemore, Highland, Scotland. Current resort and regional tourism material confirms that Spey Valley has both this nine-hole course and the much larger 18-hole Championship Course. The distinction matters because most published architectural and scorecard information on the resort website concerns the Championship Course, which opened in 2006 and was designed by Dave Thomas.
That attribution cannot safely be transferred to the Academy Course without a source specifically crediting him for the nine-hole layout. The Academy Course forms part of the same golf operation, with access to the resort's golf team, lessons and hospitality facilities. It is located at the Dalfaber Drive resort property in Aviemore.
The course is a 9-hole resort golf course. The course was designed by Dave Thomas. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Golf Lessons, Pro Shop, Restaurant, Bar, Accommodation.
The Academy Course remains part of Macdonald Spey Valley Resort's two-course golf offering. Current resort material explicitly describes the property as having both a nine-hole and an 18-hole course. Detailed historical and architectural information for the Academy layout itself is limited, and the extensive published history of the Dave Thomas-designed Championship Course should not be treated as history of the Academy Course without separate evidence.
