Spring Park Golf Course is a public nine-hole sandbelt course at the corner of Centre Dandenong and Lower Dandenong Roads in Dingley Village, Melbourne. The established database figures of nine holes and par 33 are supported by current course information. The Blue course measures 2,205 metres, while White and Red options measure 2,018 and 1,946 metres respectively.
Historical material from Forest Hills Golf Club records that six of the nine holes were once part of Southern Golf Club. After safety concerns involving golfers crossing Lower Dandenong Road, the Melbourne Metropolitan Board of Works took over those holes and developed a public facility; Parks Victoria later became custodian of the site. Spring Park is now managed by Belgravia Leisure and remains open to the public seven days a week.
The course is a 9-hole sandbelt golf course. It plays to par 33, 2,205m. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Pro Shop, Club Hire, Putting Green, Chipping Area, Practice Nets, Café, Mini Golf.
Six holes on the present property originally belonged to Southern Golf Club and sat across Lower Dandenong Road from its main course.
After a serious accident involving movement between sections of Southern's course, the Melbourne Metropolitan Board of Works and Southern Golf Club reached an arrangement under which Southern acquired other land and the MMBW took control of the separated six holes. Those holes became the basis of a public course. When the MMBW was dissolved, Parks Victoria became custodian and developed the facility into the current nine-hole layout.
Spring Park is a public sandbelt golf complex managed by Belgravia Leisure, with nine-hole golf, memberships, competitions and two mini-golf courses.
