Steele Canyon Golf Club is a 27-hole public golf facility in Jamul, east of San Diego. Gary Player designed the property, which opened in 1991 and is organised as three nine-hole courses: Canyon, Ranch and Vineyard. Each nine uses a different part of the site, allowing three principal 18-hole combinations rather than one fixed championship routing.
Published figures consequently vary by pairing: Canyon/Ranch, Canyon/Vineyard and Ranch/Vineyard have different pars, yardages and ratings, with Ranch/Vineyard reaching 6,908 yards from the Black Knight tees at 74.2/139. The Canyon nine uses the property's more pronounced elevation changes, the Ranch crosses more open ground, and the Vineyard occupies lower terrain containing streams and vineyard areas. Practice facilities include a driving range, putting and chipping areas.
