About Stepaside Golf Centre

Stepaside Golf Centre is a public golf practice facility on Enniskerry Road in Kilternan, Dublin. Its current official site operates an 18-hole par-3 course together with a fully lit, all-weather driving range. Tourism Ireland sources document the centre's origins as a nine-hole course designed by Irish architect Eddie Hackett that opened in the early 1980s, showing that the course has subsequently expanded to its present 18-hole format.

Current published par-3 rates are €15.50 for adults, €13 for students, €10 for OAPs and €9 for children aged 14 and under. The driving range offers approximately 50- and 100-ball baskets and supports professional tuition, including PGA coaching and TrackMan-based instruction. Stepaside has also been the subject of recent land-use planning debate; in April 2026 the centre announced that local councillors had voted to retain the Amenity/Agriculture zoning covering Stepaside Golf Centre and Jamestown Par 3 Course.

The course is an 18-hole golf course. The course was designed by Eddie Hackett. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Golf Lessons, TrackMan, Covered Bays, Golf Club Fitting, Putting Instruction.

Origins

Tourism Ireland records Stepaside as a nine-hole public course that began operating in the early 1980s. Eddie Hackett, one of Ireland's most prolific course architects, designed the original layout in the foothills south of Dublin.

Did You Know?
Stepaside began as a nine-hole course but now operates 18 par-3 holes.

Development

The original nine-hole facility has evolved into the current 18-hole par-3 course. A large illuminated driving range and a professional teaching operation were added around the golf course, making Stepaside as much a practice and coaching centre as a short-course venue.

Today

Stepaside currently operates an 18-hole par-3 course and all-weather driving range for public use. In April 2026 the operator announced that councillors had voted to retain Amenity/Agriculture zoning for Stepaside Golf Centre and the neighbouring Jamestown Par 3 Course.
