Sugar Hill Golf Club is an 18-hole municipal golf course in Sugar Hill, Georgia, operated as part of the City of Sugar Hill's recreation system. The course opened in spring 1992 and was designed by golf architect Willard Byrd. It is open to the public and plays to par 72.
The current USGA Course Rating Database lists the Blue men's tees at 6,458 yards with a 71.7 Course Rating and 141 Slope Rating, with additional men's and women's rated tee combinations available. The course uses Bermuda 419 fairways and Champion dwarf Bermuda greens, with trees, bunkering, moguls and rolling terrain forming much of its playing character. Practice facilities include a driving range and practice green, and the clubhouse operation includes a full-service pro shop, bar and grill, and banquet and conference facilities.

The course dates to the early 1990s, when architect Willard Byrd laid out an 18-hole public course on the rolling terrain of Sugar Hill in Gwinnett County. Sugar Hill Golf Club began play in spring 1992. Both the club itself and the City of Sugar Hill consistently identify Byrd as the architect and 1992 as the opening year.
The club describes a course where placement is particularly important. Its Bermuda 419 fairways are shaped and constrained by trees, bunkers and moguls, using the site's rolling terrain rather than relying solely on length. The course sits on elevated ground in northern Gwinnett County.
Current USGA ratings reinforce the difference between the available playing options: the men's Blue tees carry a 71.7 rating and 141 slope, while multiple shorter rated combinations allow the same par-72 routing to be played at substantially different lengths.
The playing surfaces have evolved since the original 1992 opening. The club currently identifies its putting surfaces as Champion dwarf Bermuda greens while retaining Bermuda 419 fairways. City budget documents also record continuing municipal investment in the facility, including golf-cart fleet replacement and irrigation and pond-storage improvements.
The course operates as a City of Sugar Hill municipal enterprise rather than as a private country club.
Sugar Hill Golf Club remains an 18-hole public municipal course operated within the City of Sugar Hill's recreation system. Alongside the course, the facility provides a driving range, practice green, professional instruction, full-service pro shop, bar and grill, and banquet and conference space. The Sugar Hill Golf Association operates at the facility and is open to golfers of varying skill levels, with monthly tournaments and a membership program that includes a GHIN handicap.
