About Sugarbrooke Golf Course

Sugarbrooke Golf Course is the 18-hole golf course at Sugar Lake Lodge near Cohasset in northern Minnesota. The 300-acre, par-71 layout was designed by Minnesota golf architect and former PGA professional Joel Goldstrand and measures 6,548 yards from the Blue tees, rated 71.7 with a slope of 125. White tees measure 6,195 yards, while Yellow and Red markers shorten the course to 5,533 and 5,032 yards.

The resort describes the two nines as deliberately different: the opening nine is more open, while the back nine runs through denser forest. Sugarbrooke takes its name from the brook that crosses the finishing hole. The golf operation is integrated with Sugar Lake Lodge, which provides lodging, golf villas, dining, a driving range and stay-and-play packages.

The course is an 18-hole resort golf course. It plays to par 71, 6,548 yards, course rating 71.7 and slope rating 125. Designed by Joel Goldstrand, the course originally opened in 1993. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Restaurant, Bar, Accommodation, Golf Villas, Stay and Play Packages.

Origins

Sugarbrooke was developed as the golf component of Sugar Lake Lodge and was designed by Minnesota architect and former PGA professional Joel Goldstrand.

Did You Know?
The name Sugarbrooke comes from the brook that guards the 18th green.

Design Philosophy

Goldstrand created two contrasting nines. The front side uses more open ground, while the back side moves into denser northern Minnesota forest. The finishing hole incorporates the brook from which the course takes its name.

Today

The course operates as an 18-hole resort and public-access facility integrated with Sugar Lake Lodge, golf villas, dining, recreation and stay-and-play packages.
