Sycamore Hills Golf Club is a private 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Design at 11836 Covington Road in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The club was founded in July 1987 on a former private estate containing mature trees, gentle hills and the Aboite River. The course officially opened on July 2, 1989, when Jack Nicklaus and Fort Wayne businessman Tom Kelley played the inaugural round.
Golf Digest currently lists the course at 7,288 yards with a slope of 148 and ranks it No. 142 in its 2025-26 Second 100 Greatest list and fourth in Indiana. A new ownership group acquired the club in 2013 and immediately undertook a multi-million-dollar course and clubhouse renovation.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 72, 7,288 yards, slope rating 148. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, the course originally opened in 1989. It is a private members' club. On-site facilities include Social Membership, Junior Membership, Senior Membership, Corporate Membership, Driving Range, Practice Facilities, Golf Shop, Clubhouse, and 3 more.
Sycamore Hills Golf Club was founded in July 1987 on the former estate of a prominent Fort Wayne family. Mature trees, rolling ground and the Aboite River formed the site chosen for a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design.
Nicklaus's routing uses the site's existing trees, elevation changes and river corridor. Later renovation work sought to increase challenge and drama, particularly at the finishing hole.
Four Fort Wayne businessmen purchased the club in 2013 and began a multi-million-dollar renovation of both the course and clubhouse. The redesigned 18th narrowed the fairway, altered bunkering and reshaped the water hazard and surrounding short-grass options.
The course has spent many years in Golf Digest's national rankings, including periods in the America's 100 Greatest list and later the Second 100 Greatest.
Sycamore Hills remains a private member club with nationally recognised golf and practice facilities.
