Le Riou is one of two 18-hole courses at Terre Blanche in Tourrettes, Provence. Designed by Dave Thomas, it is a par-72 layout measuring 6,005 metres, or 6,567 yards. The resort describes it as a technical course built across rolling terrain, with shaped greens and a routing intended to demand strategic decisions and precise play.
Access is deliberately restricted: Le Riou is reserved for Terre Blanche Golf Club members, their guests and guests staying at the Terre Blanche hotel, rather than operating as a general public daily-fee course. The course also has a tournament role as the annual venue for the Terre Blanche Ladies Open on the LET Access Series. Le Riou forms part of a larger golf operation alongside the Le Château course and Terre Blanche's golf-performance and practice facilities.
The course is an 18-hole resort golf course. It plays to par 72, 6,005m (6,567 yards). Designed by Dave Thomas, the course originally opened in 2004. It is open to resort guests. On-site facilities include Clubhouse, Golf performance centre, Practice facilities, Hotel, Restaurant, Terrace.
The modern Terre Blanche golf resort was developed in the early 2000s on the large Tourrettes estate. Dave Thomas designed both principal 18-hole courses, Le Riou and Le Château, as part of the resort's transformation into a golf destination.
Le Riou was conceived as the more technical of Terre Blanche's two main courses. Its hilly, winding fairways and shaped greens place greater emphasis on positioning, precision and strategic choices than simple length.
The broader estate was transformed into the Terre Blanche resort in 2004, incorporating the two Thomas-designed courses along with hotel, spa and golf-performance infrastructure.
Le Riou has established a recurring tournament identity through the Terre Blanche Ladies Open, part of the LET Access Series.
Access remains restricted to club members, members' guests and Terre Blanche hotel guests. It operates alongside Le Château within Terre Blanche's golf complex.
