Origins

The Legacy Golf Club was developed at Norwalk south of Des Moines. The Iowa Golf Association records the club as founded in 2001 and credits Jeffrey D. Brauer of Golfscapes, Inc.

as architect. Construction began in 2001 and the course opened for public play in 2002.

Design Philosophy

Brauer created contrasting nines: a par-35 outward half and par-37 inward half. Water is a recurring strategic feature, becoming particularly prominent on the back nine, where the club states that water hazards influence every hole.

Today

The Legacy remains a public 18-hole course and provides golf, dining and banquet facilities at 400 Legacy Parkway.
