The West Kilbride Golf Club is an 18-hole links at Seamill on the North Ayrshire coast. The club was formally constituted in March 1893 after Old Tom Morris surveyed the proposed ground and approved it for golf. The first course had nine holes and opened two months later.
James Braid subsequently redesigned and extended the course, with the 18-hole version coming into use in April 1905. The present Blue card measures 6,523 yards at par 71; a current scorecard source also lists White at 6,146 yards, Yellow at 5,898 and the women's Red card at 5,781 yards and par 73. The routing sits beside the Firth of Clyde and has long retained its traditional links character.

Plans for a golf course at West Kilbride emerged late in 1892, when local supporters met to consider adding golf to the district's amenities. Old Tom Morris of St Andrews was asked to inspect the proposed land and judged it suitable. The club was formally constituted in March 1893 with Nicol P.
Brown as captain, and the original nine-hole course opened two months later.
The early club occupied a modest nine-hole seaside course and a simple wooden clubhouse. James Braid was later engaged to redesign and extend the layout. The expanded 18-hole course came into use in April 1905, accompanied by an improved clubhouse.
The club's own history also records longstanding complications arising from having multiple landlords before later securing greater control of its course.
West Kilbride has developed a substantial championship record while retaining its links identity. In recent years it hosted the 2023 R&A Seniors Home Internationals and the 2025 Scottish Boys' Open Championship, adding to a history of national-level competition.
The club remains an 18-hole members' links that accepts visiting golfers. The Blue course measures 6,523 yards at par 71. Public visitor booking is offered through BRS, with seasonal pricing and group discounts.
