Thirsk & Northallerton Golf Club is an 18-hole parkland course at Thornton-le-Street in North Yorkshire. The club was founded in 1914 after land was secured for an original nine-hole course near Calvis Hall. The course remained nine holes for much of its history before being extended to its present 18-hole form in 1997.
The current White course measures 6,564 yards, plays to par 72 and has a 72.4 course rating and 130 slope. Yellow tees measure 6,314 yards at rating 71.0 and slope 126, while the women's Red course measures 5,600 yards, rating 72.9 and slope 127. The club welcomes visitors, societies and corporate groups as well as members.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 72, 6,002m (6,564 yards), course rating 72.4 and slope rating 130. The course originally opened in 1914. It is semi-private, welcoming both members and visitors. On-site facilities include Practice ground, Practice net, Putting green, Pro shop, Golf lessons, Golf cart rental, Club rental, Clubhouse.
A circular proposing a golf course at Thirsk was circulated in March 1914. After negotiations for land at Worlds End failed, a nine-hole site was secured near Calvis Hall. The first annual meeting was held on 18 May 1914 under Sir Ralph Payne-Gallwey, with fewer than 100 members.
The club remained a nine-hole operation for most of the twentieth century before the course was extended to 18 holes in 1997. The modern club also reflects the history of golf in nearby Northallerton, whose earlier club lost its course during the Second World War.
Thirsk & Northallerton achieved GolfMark accreditation in 2010.
The club now operates an 18-hole parkland course with member golf, visitor play, society bookings, a professional shop and practice facilities.
