Origins

TPC Danzante Bay was conceived as the golf centrepiece of Villa del Palmar Beach Resort & Spa at the Islands of Loreto. Rees Jones was commissioned to route the course through the property's highly varied Baja landscape.

Did You Know?
TPC Danzante Bay initially opened with only 11 holes before the final seven-hole canyon section was completed.

Design Philosophy

Jones allowed the site's contrasting landforms to define the routing. The course moves through valleys, dry arroyos, dunes and foothills before reaching elevated terrain above the Sea of Cortez. Green entrances were generally kept open enough to permit running approaches while collection areas were used on exposed cliffside holes.

Development

The first phase, comprising 11 holes near the resort, opened in April 2016. Seven additional holes built through a canyon opened in December 2017, completing the 18-hole course. In 2018 the property joined the PGA TOUR-owned TPC Network.

Today

TPC Danzante Bay remains part of the Villa del Palmar resort community and operates as a public resort course with extensive practice facilities and five sets of tees.
