TPC Southwind is an 18-hole private golf club in southeast Memphis, Tennessee, and the longtime Memphis venue on the PGA TOUR. Ron Prichard designed the course with major champions Hubert Green and Fuzzy Zoeller serving as player consultants, and it opened in 1988. The club's official scorecard page lists a par-70 championship layout of 7,244 yards, while the course was stretched to a 7,288-yard tournament setup following a major renovation completed for the 2025 FedEx St.
Jude Championship. The routing occupies a former dairy farm and incorporates rolling ground, lakes, streams and ponds; grain silos and a windmill remain from the property's earlier use. From November 2024 through August 2025, all 18 green complexes were rebuilt and resurfaced, tee boxes were renovated, irrigation was upgraded, green surrounds were converted to Zeon zoysiagrass and approximately 50 yards were added to the tournament setup.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 70, 7,244 yards. Designed by Ron Prichard, the course originally opened in 1988. It is a private members' club. On-site facilities include Practice Facility, Driving Range, Putting Green, Chipping Green, Practice Bunkers, Golf Lessons, Golf Shop, Clubhouse, and 7 more.
TPC Southwind was created as part of the PGA TOUR's Tournament Players Club network on former dairy-farm land in southeast Memphis. Golf architect Ron Prichard led the design, with major champions Hubert Green and Fuzzy Zoeller contributing as player consultants. The course opened in 1988 and became the home of Memphis' PGA TOUR stop the following year, replacing Colonial Country Club as tournament host.
Remnants of the earlier farm, including grain silos and a windmill, were retained within the property and remain visible today.

Colt as influences. At Southwind, the routing works across subtle changes in the former farm landscape while using numerous lakes, streams and ponds as strategic features. The course became known for requiring control rather than simply length, with water affecting many holes and the par-3 14th historically ranking among the more difficult short holes on the PGA TOUR.
TPC Southwind has been repeatedly updated to keep pace with tournament golf. A major renovation after the 2004 PGA TOUR event added new tees and bunkers, narrowed or adjusted fairways and extended the tournament course by more than 200 yards. Further bunker and turf improvements followed in later years.
The most extensive recent project began in November 2024. All 18 green complexes were rebuilt and resurfaced, practice greens and tee boxes were renovated, green surrounds were converted to Zeon zoysiagrass, portions of the irrigation system were upgraded and additional putting-surface area was reclaimed. Tee drainage was improved and approximately 50 yards were added to the tournament configuration, much of the additional length coming at the fifth hole.
The full course reopened for the August 2025 FedEx St. Jude Championship.
Southwind's reputation is closely tied to professional tournament golf. It hosted the FedEx St. Jude Classic from 1989 through 2018, the WGC-FedEx St.
Jude Invitational from 2019 through 2021 and, beginning in 2022, the FedEx St. Jude Championship as the opening tournament of the FedExCup Playoffs. Golf World ranked the course No.
23 in its January 2012 Exclusive PGA TOUR Course Rankings. Its uninterrupted run as a PGA TOUR venue since 1989 has made it one of the circuit's more established tournament sites.
TPC Southwind remains a private TPC Network club and the PGA TOUR's private-club presence in Tennessee. The 2026 FedEx St. Jude Championship again used the renovated course, set up at par 70 and 7,288 yards for tournament play.
Members have access to an 11-acre practice facility with 25 hitting bays, a 350-yard three-tier practice area, a 9,000-square-foot putting green, chipping and pitching greens and practice bunkers. The 33,000-square-foot clubhouse contains dining rooms, meeting and banquet spaces, locker rooms and a golf shop, while the sports center includes a fitness facility, six lighted tennis courts and swimming facilities.
