The Old Course at Trump International Golf Links, Scotland is an 18-hole, par-72 modern links at the Menie Estate near Balmedie in Aberdeenshire. Designed by Dr Martin Hawtree, it opened in 2012 and measures 7,428 yards from its championship markers. Hawtree used a traditional two out-and-back loops-of-nine routing through the coastal dune system beside the North Sea.
The course is now one of two distinct 18-hole layouts at Trump International Scotland following the opening of the New Course in 2025. Non-resident golfers can book the Old Course, so access is not restricted to hotel guests. Facilities include a clubhouse, restaurant and bar, pro shop, driving range, short-game area, putting green, caddie service and rental equipment.
The course is an 18-hole links golf course. It plays to par 72, 6,793m (7,428 yards). Designed by Dr. Martin Hawtree, the course originally opened in 2012. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Terrace, Suite, Room, Driving range, Short game area, Putting green, Pro shop, Clubhouse, and 7 more.
The Old Course was conceived as the original golf centrepiece of the Menie Estate development on the Aberdeenshire coast. Martin Hawtree was commissioned to route the course through the large dune system beside the North Sea.
Hawtree adopted a traditional links structure of two out-and-back loops of nine. The routing follows the north-south dune system, repeatedly moving between elevated ground with North Sea views and enclosed valleys within the dunes.
The course opened in 2012. For more than a decade it was the property's sole championship course. A second, separate 18-hole layout opened in 2025, after which the original became explicitly identified as the Old Course.
The course has appeared in international rankings including Golf Digest's World's 100 Greatest Golf Courses. Its role also expanded into elite tournament golf, with the DP World Tour visiting the property.
The Old Course remains a separate 18-hole, par-72 course within the now 36-hole Trump International Scotland operation. Both hotel residents and non-resident golfers can reserve tee times.
