Tullamore Golf Club is an 18-hole championship parkland course at Brookfield on the Charleville Estate outside Tullamore. The club was founded in 1896 and moved to Brookfield in 1926. James Braid visited in 1938 and produced an improvement plan that included four completely new holes and revised bunkering, with the final part of his scheme completed in 1945.
Patrick Merrigan directed a major redesign in 1995-96, adding seven new greens, eleven tees, three lakes, 30 bunkers and more than 1,000 trees. The redesigned course opened in September 1996. The current Blue scorecard measures 6,467 yards, par 70; its published WHS rating is 71.8 with slope 131.

It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Clubhouse, Buggy hire, Full Membership, Junior Membership, Country Membership, Intermediate Membership.
Golf was introduced to the Tullamore area in 1886 by Col. A. Craig.
Tullamore Golf Club itself dates to 1896 and played at earlier sites before seeking a location closer to town after the First World War and Irish revolutionary period. Negotiations for land on the Charleville Estate began in 1921, and the club relocated to Brookfield in early 1926.
James Braid was invited to inspect Brookfield in 1938. His recommendations included four entirely new holes and a bunkering plan. Those changes became fundamental to the course that followed, although the work was staged over several years and the new 18th green was not completed until 1945.
The Braid-influenced course remained largely unchanged until 1995. Under Patrick Merrigan, seven new greens, eleven new tees and three lakes were built, 30 bunkers added and more than 1,000 trees planted. The redesigned course opened in September 1996.
Merrigan returned in 2007 to oversee further work on the 16th hole.
The club has repeatedly been selected to host national and regional championships. Recent events include the 2019 Interprovincial Championships and the 2021 Irish Close Championship.
Tullamore is a visitor-accessible championship parkland course with more than 1,000 members. The present layout retains elements of Braid's work alongside Merrigan's 1990s reconstruction.
