West Woods Golf Club is a City of Arvada municipal golf facility in Colorado with three distinct nine-hole courses: Sleeping Indian, Cottonwood and Silo. The city built the original 18 holes—Sleeping Indian and Cottonwood—in 1994 to a design by Colorado architect Richard M. Phelps.
His son Rick Phelps laid out the Silo nine in 1998-99, increasing the complex to 27 holes. The three nines are rotated into different 18-hole combinations. From the Black tees, Sleeping Indian/Cottonwood measures 7,035 yards at 72.9/136, Cottonwood/Silo 6,800 yards at 71.9/135, and Silo/Sleeping Indian 6,761 yards at 71.8/135.
The course is a 27-hole golf course. Designed by Rick Phelps and Dick Phelps, the course originally opened in 1994. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Golf Lessons, Golf Simulator, Golf Cart Rental, Push Cart Rental, Restaurant, Annual Passes, Junior Golf.
The City of Arvada built West Woods' first two nines in 1994 as a municipal golf project.
Richard Phelps gave Sleeping Indian and Cottonwood different identities despite sharing one facility; Rick Phelps later added Silo as a third contrasting nine.
Silo was laid out in 1998-99, expanding West Woods from 18 to 27 holes.
West Woods remains a public City of Arvada course with rotating combinations, annual passes, practice facilities and dining.
