Rick Phelps is a Colorado‑based golf course architect who officially began his professional career in 1989, following an early grounding in the craft alongside his father from around age 10. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Design from the University of Colorado (1989) and became a member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA) in 1999, serving as its president in 2011–12.
