Wrangaton Golf Course sits on the southern slopes of Dartmoor near South Brent in Devon. Founded in 1895, it spent most of its early history as a nine-hole course. Expansion became possible after additional moorland and adjoining farmland and woodland were acquired, and by the early 1990s the original holes had become the front nine of an 18-hole layout.
This produced the course's defining structural feature: nine holes with a moorland character and nine in a more parkland setting. The 18-hole course plays to par 70. Wrangaton went into liquidation in January 2015 but was sold as a going concern to the Barter family, operators of Bovey Tracey Golf Club, preserving the golf course.

Wrangaton was established in 1895 on the southern slopes of Dartmoor and remained a nine-hole course for much of its history.
The acquisition of approximately 130 acres of additional open moorland, followed by further purchases of farmland and woodland, allowed Wrangaton to expand. By 1991 the original nine had become the front nine and a new back nine had been developed in a parkland setting. The club entered liquidation in January 2015, but the property was sold as a going concern to the Barter family, owners of Bovey Tracey Golf Club.
Wrangaton operates as an 18-hole, par-70 course whose two nines have markedly different landscape characters. It is associated with the South Devon Golf Group alongside Bovey Tracey.
