Zwartkop Country Club is a historic parkland golf club in Centurion, Gauteng. The club officially opened on the farm Zwartkop in 1933. The traditional 18-hole layout uses the Hennops River as a major feature, with the river passing through much of the course and mature trees defining the fairways.
Bob Grimsdell is credited with the earlier course architecture, while Peter Matkovich later carried out significant upgrading work. The club is associated with the Hayes family and includes a golf academy, practice facilities, pro shop, gym, restaurant and other country-club amenities. Visitors are welcomed, although access is more restricted at some weekend times.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. Designed by Bob Grimsdell, the course originally opened in 1933. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving range, Bistro, Function Room, Corporate Membership, Putting green, Chipping green, Practice bunker, Pro shop, and 5 more.
The club was established on the Zwartkop farm and officially opened in 1933. Its parkland identity developed around the Hennops River and the established vegetation of the property.
The traditional routing relies on river crossings, relatively compact greens and tree-lined corridors rather than exceptional length. Bob Grimsdell shaped the established layout, with Peter Matkovich later carrying out substantial improvements.
The course has evolved repeatedly during its long history and later became integrated with Zwartkop Golf Estate. The Hayes family has played a major role in its modern operation.
Zwartkop operates as an inclusive golf and social club with academy, practice, fitness and hospitality facilities.
