Golf Course Architect
Eddie B. Connaughton is an Irish golf course agronomist and architect who began his turf‑management career as a trainee greenkeeper at Royal Dublin and Elm Park clubs, earning Ireland’s first City & Guilds greenkeeping certificate in 1981.
He then specialized in turfgrass management, earning a BSc from Purdue University in 1985, before gaining construction and technical experience in Scotland. Upon returning to Ireland, he co‑founded Grass Technology International in 1989 to offer agronomy and construction advice across the UK and Ireland.
In 1997, he established Eddie B. Connaughton Ltd, through which he has provided agronomic consultancy, course design, remodelling, drainage and project management services to numerous Irish clubs.
