John S. Sanford Jr.

is a seasoned golf course architect based in Florida and a member—and past president—of the American Society of Golf Course Architects. S.

and internationally. He established his own firm, Sanford Golf Design (also known as Sanford & Associates or Sanford Ferris Golf Course Design), in 1986 and often collaborates on complex projects including landfill-to-golf-course transformations and strategic restorations.

One of his credited works is The Quest Golf Club in Houghton Lake, Michigan, designed in partnership with Ken Green. His design ethos emphasizes integration with natural terrain, sustainability, and playability.
