Golf Course Architect
Kris Spence is a North Carolina–based golf course architect specializing in the renovation, restoration, and redesign of classic early‑20th‑century American courses. With over two decades in the field, he founded Spence Golf, Inc.
(also trading as Kris Spence Golf Design) and has restored more than 50 courses, notably Donald Ross and Ellis Maples designs. His body of work includes high‑profile projects such as restoring Sedgefield Country Club to its 1924 Ross design (which helped return the PGA Tour’s Wyndham Championship to the course), the Dogwood Course at Country Club of North Carolina, and the historic Dunedin Golf Club near Tampa.
