Golf Course Architect
Les Furber is a Canadian golf course architect based in Canmore, Alberta, whose career spans over fifty years in original design and renovation. He co‑founded GDS Golf Design Services Ltd.
, and has led the design of more than sixty-five new courses across Canada and internationally, plus numerous remodeling projects. His work includes both innovative original layouts and sensitive renovations that respect classic designs, such as courses by Stanley Thompson.
Furber’s design philosophy emphasizes creative routing, striking visual appeal, and balanced playability—courses that are fun to design, build, and play.
