Al Hamra Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 championship course in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates. Peter Harradine designed the course, which opened in 2007; GolfNow also credits Niall Glen in the design team. The official club describes the course as approximately 7,400 yards with five tee options per hole.
Its layout was built around four interconnected open-water lagoons linked visually and physically with the Arabian Gulf. Al Hamra became a DP World Tour venue in 2022, hosting both the inaugural Ras Al Khaimah Championship and Ras Al Khaimah Classic. The Ras Al Khaimah Championship subsequently returned in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
The course is an 18-hole desert golf course. It plays to par 72, 7,400 yards. Designed by Peter Harradine and Niall Glen, the course originally opened in 2007. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Putting Green, Chipping Area, Pitching Area, Practice Bunker, Golf Academy, Pro Shop, Club Hire, and 3 more.
Al Hamra Golf Club was developed as part of the wider Al Hamra destination in Ras Al Khaimah. Peter Harradine designed the championship course, which opened in 2007. The project transformed coastal desert terrain into a golf landscape structured around four interconnected lagoons.
The routing uses the lagoon system as its primary landscape and strategic element. The official club describes five tee positions on each hole, allowing the par-72 course to be adjusted for a wide range of players while retaining a championship configuration of approximately 7,400 yards.
Al Hamra developed a full practice and teaching complex around the course and introduced floodlit golf, extending play into the evening. Its competitive profile increased significantly when it joined the DP World Tour schedule in 2022.
In 2022 Al Hamra hosted the inaugural Ras Al Khaimah Championship and the Ras Al Khaimah Classic. The Ras Al Khaimah Championship returned in 2023, 2024 and 2025, establishing the course as a recurring professional-tour venue.
Al Hamra operates as a public-access resort-area golf club in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, with advance tee-time booking, an academy, practice facilities, night golf and associated hospitality facilities.
