Resorts World Awana Golf Course is an 18-hole mountain course at Genting Highlands, approximately 3,100 feet above sea level. The original course was established in 1986 by Resorts World founder Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong and designed by Ronald Fream. The property has since undergone a comprehensive redesign led by Parslow & Winter Golf Design.
The project rerouted several holes and reconstructed playing surfaces while responding to the steep highland topography and surrounding forest. Resorts World describes the rebuilt course as using modern all-weather turfing and enhanced drainage. Because the redesign materially changed routing and playing surfaces, older Awana scorecards should not be assumed to describe the current course.
The course is an 18-hole mountain golf course. Designed by Ronald Fream, the course originally opened in 1986. It is open to resort guests. On-site facilities include Accommodation, Restaurant, Clubhouse, Terrace.
Awana's golf course was established in 1986 by the late Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong as part of the Awana Genting Highlands resort development. International architect Ronald Fream designed the original layout through the mountainous site.
Parslow & Winter Golf Design later received a commission for a comprehensive transformation. The work included rerouting several holes, complete reshaping of playing surfaces, strategic revisions and infrastructure improvements intended to deal more effectively with the site's topography and high-rainfall environment.
Resorts World Genting now presents Awana as a rebuilt 18-hole course with modern all-weather turf and improved drainage.
