Bayonet at Puppy Creek

Bayonet at Puppy Creek is an 18-hole public golf course in Raeford, North Carolina, offering a challenging and beautifully maintained layout within easy reach of Fayetteville and Fort Bragg. Designed by noted golf course architect Willard Byrd, the par-72 course stretches to 6,819 yards from the back tees and was created around the idea that every hole should present golfers with a different challenge. The result is a varied layout featuring uphill and downhill par threes, reachable par fives, doglegs in both directions and four encounters with the picturesque Puppy Creek.

Course conditioning is a major part of Bayonet’s identity. The property is owned by Carolina Turf Farms, a family business with generations of turf-growing experience, and the course has undergone significant renovation work. All 18 greens were reconstructed and converted from bentgrass to TifEagle ultradwarf bermudagrass, while every fairway and greenside bunker was rebuilt, drainage was improved and the 18th hole was restored to its original design.
