The Biltmore Golf Course is an 18-hole, par-71 resort course in Coral Gables, Florida. Donald Ross designed the original layout in 1925 as part of the Biltmore development, and the course later hosted the Miami-Biltmore Open. The current Black tees measure 7,112 yards with a 74.3 course rating and 132 slope.
Other official tee options range from 5,288 to 6,448 yards for men, with women's ratings also published from the White and Red tees. The modern course retains the movement of the Ross routing, 84 of the original 85 bunkers and greens restored to their original dimensions. The greens are surfaced with TifEagle Bermuda and the fairways with 419 Bermuda.
The course is an 18-hole resort golf course. It plays to par 71, 6,503m (7,112 yards), course rating 74.3 and slope rating 132. Designed by Donald Ross, the course originally opened in 1925. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving range, Short-game practice area, Golf shop, Golf lessons, Club fitting, Club rental, Golf cart rental, Restaurant, and 1 more.
The golf course formed part of George E. Merrick's development of Coral Gables and the Biltmore resort in the 1920s. Donald Ross was commissioned to design the course in 1925, giving the resort a championship golf component alongside the hotel.
Ross shaped the course around movement in the fairways, strategic bunkering and greens that rewarded approach placement. The current club specifically identifies restoration of the original green dimensions and preservation of nearly all of the original bunkers as important links to the 1925 design.
The Biltmore property changed roles dramatically during the twentieth century, including use as a military and veterans' hospital. After Coral Gables gained ownership, restoration of the resort began in the 1980s. From 1992, Seaway Hotels Group undertook a broad resort renovation that included restoration of the golf course toward its original Ross design.
Later work introduced modern turf, USGA-specification greens and laser-levelled tees while retaining the historic routing.
The course's historic relevance is tied both to Donald Ross and to the Miami-Biltmore Open, which the hotel describes as one of the richer professional events of its era.
The Biltmore operates as a public-access resort course with hotel guest play, memberships, golf instruction, practice facilities, rental equipment and direct tee-time access.
