Cataraqui Golf & Country Club is a private 18-hole, par-70 club at 32 Country Club Drive in Kingston, Ontario. The club was founded in 1917. Stanley Thompson arrived in the early 1930s and transformed the earlier course, designing new holes and rebuilding significant parts of the existing layout; his routing remains central to Cataraqui's identity.
The current Blue men's course measures 6,445 yards with a 71.4 course rating and 128 slope. Architect Doug Carrick and his firm have carried out restoration and renovation work since the 1990s, including bunker restoration and reconstruction work intended to reinforce Thompson's design. Cataraqui has hosted significant provincial and national competition, including Canadian PGA Championships in 1936 and 1938, multiple Ontario Opens and amateur championships, and the 2017 Canadian Junior Boys Championship.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 70, 6,445 yards, course rating 71.4 and slope rating 128. Designed by Stanley Thompson, the course originally opened in 1917. It is a private members' club. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Putting Green, Chipping Area, Practice Bunker, Golf Academy, Golf Lessons, TrackMan, Clubhouse, and 2 more.
Cataraqui was founded in 1917 with an earlier course already in place before Stanley Thompson's involvement. Thompson arrived in Kingston in the early 1930s and used both existing and newly available land to reshape the property into the course associated with the club today.
Thompson retained selected earlier holes while creating new routing and rebuilding green and bunker complexes. The result is particularly noted for its varied one-shot holes and strategic bunkering.
Doug Carrick and Carrick Design have worked at Cataraqui since the 1990s. Their restoration programme has included green reconstruction, bunker renewal and sympathetic work intended to reinforce Thompson's architectural character.
Cataraqui has maintained a long presence in Canadian course rankings and has a substantial championship-hosting record at both provincial and national level.
Cataraqui remains a private four-season club combining golf, curling, dining, fitness-related programming and social facilities.
