The Montgomerie Course at Celtic Manor Resort in Newport is an 18-hole, par-69 resort course that opened in 2007. Colin Montgomerie led the design, with Ross McMurray and European Golf Design also credited in published course records. The routing incorporated land and golf features associated with the resort's earlier Coldra Woods and Wentwood Hills courses.
Celtic Manor describes Montgomerie's design as drawing on his Scottish links background, particularly through the use of deep pot bunkers, while the site's elevation produces substantial uphill and downhill changes. Golf Digest lists the course at 6,196 yards with a slope of 124. The third hole has been included in the book 1001 Golf Holes You Must Play Before You Die.
