Illahe Hills Country Club is a private 18-hole club at 3376 Country Club Drive South in Salem, Oregon. The course was designed by William F. Bell and opened for play in 1961.
Independent architectural references credit Robert Muir Graves with a redesign in 1981. Current 2026 scorecard data lists the Black tees at par 72 and 6,922 yards, with a 74.0 course rating and 141 slope. Illahe's official history traces the club to a group of Salem residents who began organising a private country club in 1959 after an earlier effort north of Keizer failed.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 72, 6,329m (6,922 yards), course rating 74 and slope rating 141. Designed by William Bell Jr, the course originally opened in 1961. It is a private members' club. On-site facilities include Driving range, Putting green, Chipping area, Golf shop, Club fitting, Golf lessons, Restaurant, Locker rooms, and 5 more.
The push for a new private country club in Salem gathered momentum in 1959. The club's official history says the idea developed during informal luncheon discussions at the Quisenberry Drug Store Restaurant after an earlier attempt to establish Fircone Country Club north of Keizer had failed. Illahe identifies Reynolds Allen, Erwin Batterman, Chandler Brown, Carl Gerlinger, Vern McMullen, Owen Miller, Vern Miller, Merritt Truax and Bruce Williams as its founders.
William F. Bell created a traditional tree-lined 18-hole layout intended to support a full private country-club operation rather than golf alone. The official club continues to describe the course as playable across different ability levels.
The course opened in 1961. Golf directories and architectural records credit Robert Muir Graves with a redesign in 1981. The country club subsequently broadened its non-golf facilities substantially, adding racquet sports, swimming, fitness, dining and other member amenities.
The club states that the course has hosted USGA championships and many of Oregon's major golf events.
Illahe Hills remains a private membership club with an 18-hole championship course and extensive sporting, dining and social facilities.
