Indianhead Golf Course is an 18-hole public golf course in Mosinee, Wisconsin, in the Wisconsin River Valley between Wausau and Stevens Point. The course was designed by Bob Lohmann and independent Wisconsin golf sources date its opening to 1968. It plays to par 72 and measures 6,530 yards from the Blue tees, with shorter White and forward tee options.
The layout crosses rolling Wisconsin countryside, while the club specifically notes that the back nine runs through a Northern Wisconsin forest. Current course-rating databases list the Blue tees at roughly 72.0-72.2 with a slope of 133. Indianhead's practice facilities include a full driving range, practice green and bunker area, and the clubhouse contains a pro shop, bar, dining room and banquet facilities.
The course is an 18-hole parkland golf course. It plays to par 72, 5,971m (6,530 yards), course rating 72.2 and slope rating 133. Designed by Bob Lohmann, the course originally opened in 1968. It is open to the public. On-site facilities include Driving Range, Practice Green, Bunker Practice, Pro Shop, Golf Lessons, Golf Club Rental, Golf Cart Rental, Bar, and 3 more.
Indianhead emerged during the late 1960s expansion of golf in central Wisconsin. Independent Wisconsin golf records date the course to 1968 and credit Bob Lohmann with the design. The property was developed outside Mosinee in the Wisconsin River Valley, between Wausau and Stevens Point.
The surviving public record is sparse on the identities of the founders or the detailed construction process, so those aspects cannot be stated reliably.
The routing uses two contrasting parts of the property. The club describes the course as being carved through rolling Wisconsin countryside, with the back nine moving into a Northern Wisconsin forest. From the Blue tees the par-72 layout reaches 6,530 yards.
Lohmann's routing includes four par 5s and four par 3s, with the longest hole measuring 558 yards from the Blue tees. The club presents the design as intended to remain playable across a range of abilities rather than serving only low-handicap golfers.
Indianhead remains substantially associated with its original architect. In a club social-media post, Indianhead described Bob Lohmann as the original golf course architect when he revisited the property and noted that his name had appeared on the scorecard since 1992. No reliably sourced major redesign or subsequent renovation architect was found, so no renovator has been assigned.
Indianhead operates as an 18-hole public golf course with a driving range, practice green, bunker practice area and pro shop. The clubhouse provides a bar, dining room and banquet facilities, with an outdoor pavilion used for outings and events. A PGA professional is on staff, and the club runs individual instruction and a junior program that combines clinics, skills competitions and on-course play.
For 2026 the course continues to publish separate weekday and weekend rates for adults, seniors, juniors and military golfers.
